We spent last night in France listening to the pouring rain pattering on the top of the roof tent. Not an unpleasant experience in the least.... till we had to get up and pack up the tents in the rain. grrrrrr. As we drove away from Dijon and set our heading for Geneva, the weather started to ease off a bit. By accident we had chosen a route following the A39 which took us passed Poulet La Bresse. Now, if you haven't heard of the Bresse chickens, they are supposedly the best in the world (and that's NOT just according to the French) - Heston Blumenthal waxes lyrical about them too. So we stopped off and bought one. We had to take out a second mortgage on the house to do it but when we had it last night, we have to agree, they are the best chickens in the world! We had a most amazing supper of Bresse Chicken, fresh asparagus (bought in Reims) and salad - a veritable taste explosion and we could hear choirs of angels :o) To top it all, we were sitting outside in what was now a fabulously clear day watching the sun set over Lake Geneva. sigh life is goooooood.
