Day 213

Sunday, 25 January 2009 - Route

It's official!  We have a definite start date for our trip and have chosen a memorable day - Monday 13 April 2009 (Easter Monday).  So, allowing for a final family gathering over the Easter weekend, we will kiss everyone goodbye on Monday morning and begin our journey down.  We stop over in the UK for a final time (for a while at least ...) on Monday night and then, after crossing under the channel on Tuesday night, begin our journey through France for 1 week and Italy for another week.  Our first ferry crossing is from Brindisi, Italy to Patras, Greece, where we spend a week in Greece, 1 week in Turkey and 1 week in Syria.  From there we cross to Jordan and after spending 2 weeks in Jordan culture hunting and scuba diving, attempt our second ferry crossing from Aqaba to Nuweiba and on through Egypt.
