Now I think I have explained before what great people Linda and Jacques are and that they have treated us with the most incredible hospitality and warmth (the feeling is mutual, of course!). So that morning we were invited to dine in the lodge and set off on our excursion to Lusaka on a full English breakfast with several rounds of toast, marmalade, marmite and coffee. Suitably fortified, we were on our way.
After an uneventful drive into Lusaka we arrived in the afternoon and hit the shops but with nothing of great significance to be found (other than a sarong that Trevor bought me for my birthday then promptly half-inched for himself!!!!), we went to the Protea to check in. The room was enormous with a massive king-size bed and the most incredible shower and bathroom. The shower came in handy the next day as a part of our hangover cure!!!
A quick freshen up and off we went to meet Jacques and Linda at Rhapsody's for sundowners. I won't bore you with too much detail but needless to say, my birthday was celebrated with a great big bang!!!! Supper was at Rhapsody's and can be highly recommended, after dinner drinks and a sheesha at Arabian Nights and dancing till the wee hours of the morning at Room 101 and we were fit to drop by 3am!!!!
