Day 270 - HepB failure

We've just had a call from our local GP.  Last week we had a blood test done to check out the level of our Hep B anti-bodies and, blow me down, mine hasn't worked!!!!  Trevor, of course, has an exemplary count - around about 400 with the minimum requirement being 100.  Mine is a measly 7.  Which means that I am off for another full emergency course of Hep B again from next week.  Evidently, it's a common thing for some people not to build anti-bodies. sigh.  We are having to use Engerix again as there is nothing else available in the time left - hopefully that this will kick off my body to build the anti-bodies.

Thank god that we have been on the WMT course and we can comfortably inject each other.  Trevor is tasked with giving me my last injection 'cause we won't be here for that one.  The emergency course of Hep B is a 0, 7 and 21 day schedule and so I'll be getting my last injection in France.  Luckily we have the fridges so we should be able to keep the vaccine stable (here's hoping that the fridge doesn't decide to freeze everything on a whim!).

It's not quite the end of the world if this one doesn't work as well (it happens!).  It just means that I have to be aware that if I'm exposed to Hep B by needle stick or human bite (???) , I have to let the treating doctor know as it's a different treatment regime.  So, not so bad.

Wish me luck!
